My latest firings...

I must admit that I developed this line after a wonderful workshop at the Phoenix Fired Art in Joplin, MO. It was given by Paul Pfrehm (pronouced Frame).  He provided wonderful insight into the carvings on the pots.

Now, it seems that each vessel is more than just a vessel...they are canvases to decorate.
I just love learning new things!

Cone Box Show 2012!!

Yes, it's official!! My "Just a Little Tea for Me", a tiny tea set complete with the teapot, 4 cups and tray, was accepted into the 10th International Cone Box Show.  For those of you unfamiliar with the show, it features works that can fit into a cone box and has to be primarily made of clay. The show will be at the Lawrence Art Center, Lawrence, KS from September 14th through October 31st.

Tea houses revisited...

Just a few pics of a project that I am revisiting.  Did these years ago...time to refine it a bit more.
 the body
 funky spout..happy accident
 handle
 with the lid/roof
 shortened the chimney

The last time I did these, I hand built EVERYTHING.  I just didn't have the patience to do it all that way...got to love what the hand builders do.....I'm really liking the spout and will try to duplicate that on purpose in future endeavors...trying to really think outside the box.

Monday night, September 19th

more antics...believe it or not, we do learn in this class...

Denise is trying to get her sectional pots to work.
Dr. Knapp is getting things "centered".
 Melody is creating something awesome
And I'm trying to work with some persnickety snow porcelain...not fun.

The latest on my wall

Here are a few additions to the south wall. This is day 6 of painting...note the details around Big Ben, the Zen garden with the addition of the guardian rock aka Charlie.

I love the bone at Charlie's feet...Annabelle's touch!!
